Absolutely drop dead gorgeous day on the Seabass grounds this morning. Took advantage of the conditions first thing and bounced around some small pieces, all of them seeing plenty of short life and a handful of keepers. Was able to hit about a dozen spots before the tide came up and saw the same bite almost everywhere. Once we got the tide we made a move to where we've been fishing, and found the best readings we've had all year. Definitely didn't catch what we read, but had very good short life and with a pick of keepers. Would've been nice to see some more, but the life was welcomed after our last trip. Seems like a load of fish moved into our area the past few days, hopefully they'll bite better each day. The bait definitely worked better than the jigs again, seeing more bites and much better size. Seabass fishing has been pretty similar the past few days. Every trip is seeing fantastic short action with a pick of keepers for the majority of the day. Each day we seem to find a few spots that are loaded with keepers though, just really got to take advantage when they're biting! Bait has been out fishing rigs 10/1, and producing much larger fish. Beautiful night on the water tonight for our 6:30PM Striper trip. The tide was very weak and there was a light wind across the tide so the drift was a little funky. Never really moved that fast tonight, which usually isn't ideal. Still had a fair amount of bites for the conditions, seeing a bite or 2 on most of our drifts tonight. No beatdown, but still some quality fish hitting the deck. Pool fish was in the 40" range once again. Got out this morning with a good crowd after the past couple days of great fishing. Headed right to where we've been fishing to find a barren wasteland. Little to no readings and very few bites. Didn't give it much time, took a ride and found some life that wanted to bite. Most drops saw very fast action with loads of shorts, and keepers in the mix. Some true inshore jumbos today as well. We were able to pull a handful of keepers off each drop, and kept it moving. Hit a bunch of very small pieces since there was not an ounce of wind or current, and found fish everywhere we looked. Would've liked to see more keepers, but those that were dialed in were able to catch pretty well. Mostly everything was on bait again, with much smaller fish coming up on the jigs. Andddd repeat! Another Seabass limit today!🔥 Back out with another light crowd for a drop dead gorgeous day on the ocean. Couldn't have asked for nicer conditions, or better fishing!! Drop and reel fishing all day today on the bait. Had to do a lot of recycling, with the ratio being not as good as yesterday. But the guys made nice easy work of our 9 man limit and headed home a bit early. We were able to drift for most the day, only had to work the throttles for the last hour or so when the current came up. 10/10 day for sure, thanks to everyone for fishing hard today weeding through the shorts! Some serious quality came up today with the biggest fish of the season so far. Let's do it again tomorrow! Squid, squid, squid!!!! 🔥🦑 A very successful first squid trip tonight! Got to the grounds, got the lights (both underwater and on the rails) all set up and started picking away shortly after. Once the squid settled into the lights it was game on, with squid flying over the rails all night. Couple flurries of drop and reel fishing, but mostly a steady pick with some guys really dialing it in. Had to keep working the water column, but they were around the boat all night long! Many guys with 40-60 a piece, some with more. They bit right until we blew 3 horns to head home. Readings were very good, and when we were on our way home we read large bodies of them all over the area. It's time!! Check out our story for some video of the action! Seabass limit today!🔥🔥🔥 Headed out with a light crowd this morning right to where we left them yesterday and boy were they there. Keepers were flying right from the start with drop and reel double header short life. Hovered the piece of bottom, keeping the guys on the best life. The muggers got real bad, even trying to push us off the drop with their anchors🤣🤡 so took a little ride looking at other pieces, picking a couple quality fish off each. Once the muggers scattered, we went right back and finished off our 12 man limit and were able to get home a little early. Bait worked best today, seeing the best quality. Listen to the crew, when they tell you somethings working better than other things, make the switch!! Every day is different! We'll be back at it on the Seabass grounds in the am! Back out tonight and back on the Jumbos🐍 No hot and heavy bite tonight, but we picked away. Had good conditions for the first half of the night and had bites on most drifts. Chased the tide as far as we could until it died off on us, along with the bites. Saw our first showing of dogs tonight too which isn't the best sign, but when we drifted correctly we had plenty of bass bites. Back at it on Thursday night! Very good Seabass fishing today!!! Got to the grounds this morning and had instant life. Short action was pretty much drop and reel with some very nice keepers coming up on the bait. Hovered around a couple of pieces, picking the keepers off each. Made a little move and man did the fish start flying. Double headers as fast as you could pull them with some very nice quality. Some of the best quality of the year. Ended up dropping the anchor and we had steady action for the rest of the day with many guys catching their limit+++. Both jigs and rigs worked well on the last drop, with bait seeing slightly better size. Tons of limits, many just 1 or 2 fish short. Everyone went home with plenty of fillets for dinner! Such an awesome sign to see after a couple lousy trips over the weekend. Can't wait to get back out there tomorrow! Had the Rutherford Rotary Club out today for their annual trip. Beautiful day on the water, but the fishing was slower than it's been. Had a couple good shots of keepers in the morning mixed in with very fast short life. Bounced around a lot of bottom looking for better but saw mostly the same everywhere. Pick of keepers with good short action. Would've loved to see more keepers but the action kept everyone busy. Also saw a couple of cod and blackfish that were all released. We are going to take a pass on tomorrow mornings trip. Forecast is calling for 30mph+ out of the North. Definitely not ideal for where we're fishing. We'll be back at it on Sunday!
