Had the Rutherford Rotary Club out today for their annual trip. Beautiful day on the water, but the fishing was slower than it's been. Had a couple good shots of keepers in the morning mixed in with very fast short life. Bounced around a lot of bottom looking for better but saw mostly the same everywhere. Pick of keepers with good short action. Would've loved to see more keepers but the action kept everyone busy. Also saw a couple of cod and blackfish that were all released. We are going to take a pass on tomorrow mornings trip. Forecast is calling for 30mph+ out of the North. Definitely not ideal for where we're fishing. We'll be back at it on Sunday! Another good day of Seabass fishing today! Got to where we had our best bite yesterday and was greeted with a ton of boat traffic and a sluggish bite. Picked at the keepers with OK short life. Knew it wasn't going to happen so took a ride looking for better. Hit a million little spots picking a couple off each, until we landed on one with the right sized ones. Got a good shot at keepers with drop and reel short life. Lasted about an hour until it slowed up and we went looking again. Landed on another good pile to end the day, with drop and reel double headers with some beautiful keepers coming up. Left them snapping before the wind came up and headed home. If we had that fishing all day it would've been something..... Bunch of limits, and lots with 6-8 a piece. Another great night of Trophy Striped Bass fishing! Took a few drifts to get some current, but once we had it we had non stop bites every drift! Steady fishing with 1-3 fish per drift with a couple drifts of 4-5. That lasted a couple hours, then decided to take a ride and look at some different bottom. Again had fish right away with 6 on our first drift, then settled into the same 1-3 fish a drift for the rest of the night. Definitely non stop action with a ton of bites tonight! Thanks to everyone for fishing hard and working together as these fish ran circles around the boat. Love this time of year, some of my favorite fishing!!! Full crush on the jigs today!! Steamed out this morning to where we left them biting yesterday. Took a few drops of picking a handful of keepers through millions of shorts, but once we landed on them it was game on. Double headers were flying on both bait and jigs, but the majority of keepers came up on the jigs! The guys who were dialed in had their limit before 10am. It was as fast as you could pull them for the majority of the day, the jigs weren't even hitting the bottom. Drifting conditions were perfect, so we were able to cherry pick the keepers off each drop and not waste any time with the anchor. HH had over 20k(orl) himself on the jigs. Bare A17 and a sandeel teaser was all you needed, but they ate pretty much any jig/teaser you threw at them. Bite lasted until the change of tide, but by then it was time to start heading home. Ended the day just a couple fish shy of our 17 man limit. Super fun fishing when they bite like that on the jigs! Also saw our first keeper fluke of the season, as well as some blues. Lots of life out there! Back at it tomorrow! Bring a spinning rod with some jigs! Trophy Time!!🏆🐍🏆 Great fishing on tonight's trophy bass eeling trip! Picked a few everywhere we went for the first half of the night. Lots of bouncing around seeing bites in all areas. Ended up landing on a real nice pile of fish loaded up across some structure and it was game on for the rest of the night! Fish on every drift, with many drifts seeing 2-5 fish. Many guys with 2-3 fish a piece tonight. Between the fishing and the weather you couldn't beat it! The pictures are a little rough tonight, the guys were crazy busy netting fish and tying rigs all night, and I had a long night of power drifting... But here's some! 10/10 day on the Seabass grounds today! Can't ask for much more than what today brought us. Fantastic weather, and the fish bit all day! Bounced around a ton of different snags all morning, picking a couple keepers through drop and reel shorts off each drop. The fishing seemed the same everywhere we looked, very fast action with lots of recycling. Landed on a piece towards the end of the day and it was game on with the keepers. Tons of double header keepers flying over the rail on both clam bellies and jigs. Lots of limits+ today, with everyone going home with plenty of fillets for dinner! Finally the bite we've been waiting for, along with some perfect weather. Even myself and Michael were able to drop down and catch ourselves dinner! Back on the Jumbos tonight🐍 Had a few bites right away on our first drift, but it didn't last. Took a ride looking around, catching 1 here 1 there. The tide was weak, wasn't moving fast enough. Finally found some current and got a real good shot of fish. Got a few drifts out of the bites before they scattered. Had up to 6 on at a time during the bite. All jumbos once again. They're here!! Finally, some Seabass! The east wind did exactly what we hoped it would do, pushed a load of bait and Seabass in on our local bottom! Started the morning picking at some, doing lots of looking. Landed on some real good piles mid day and stuck with them until it was time to go. Drop and reel style fishing for the last 2 hours, with both jigs and bait catching fish. Could've definitely used more size, but everyone went home with dinner tonight. Shorts dominated most drops today, but after the past 10 days of lifeless bottom today was a welcomed sign!! Also saw a bunch of out of season togs and a beautiful cod released today. Had some surprise visitors with stripes as well on the clams. Tomorrow and the next handful of days look fantastic, now is the time! Shewwww that was a fun one! Great conditions = great bite!!🔥 Started the night where we've been fishing, but had very little current or drift so only picked a few fish. Took a ride to find some tide and it was game on as soon as we had the right drift! Multiple fish on at a time on every single drift for the rest of the night. Fish were snapping until it was time for us to go, and we left them biting. All jumbos tonight, with the pool going in the upper 40s. Pete and Luke were putting on a clinic all night on the pulpit. Seemed like every drift either one of them or both of them had a fish. Tonssss of missed opportunities tonight, snapped lines and pulled hooks. These fish were angry, towing everyone all around the boat. Whole new batch of fish moved into our area, readings were fantastic everywhere we looked tonight, some of the best of the year. Jumbos on eels🐍🐍 Steamed out this afternoon to where we had our best bite yesterday, and once again immediately had fish on. Drift was crazy fast with the wind and tide together, but the fish loved it. The bite on the incoming was savage, with multiple fish on every drift. Once again the bite slowed when the tide did. Picked a few more then took a ride to look for more. Unfortunately only had a few more bites on the outgoing, didn't have enough time to really let the tide develop. But the early bite definitely made up for it, and the best part is that we have another hour of that tide on Tuesday night! Weather looks great for Tuesday night, come on down and catch your PB!
