Introducing the new 62’ Dark Horse! Sailing daily out of Atlantic Highlands Municipal Marina
Left the dock today and headed in the direction of where we left the fish yesterday. Saw plenty of life, but it didn't look like it was going to happen so kept it moving. Made some calls and heard the life was pretty dismal everywhere so decided to take a chance and look in a different area that the log books said should have some fish. The run definitely paid off, as we had birds and fish splashing all over the place. The fish were pretty keyed in on the peanuts making them a little harder to catch but we still picked away for the rest of the day. A good mix of overs, keepers, and bonus size fish hit the deck. A few of the guys were dialed in catching a couple a piece. Had to present the shads low and slow to get the bites! Great to see a new body of keepers and bonus size fish in our area.
Unfortunately, the wind machine turns back on tonight and blows hard NE for the next bunch of days... All trips tonight through at least Thursday are canceled.
Hoping that we can at least get the weekend in, but we will keep everyone updated on when our next trip is going to be.

Made our way out this am and decided to check some local stuff out first. Landed one right away on the first drift, thought something was going to come together but it never did. Took a long ride without seeing much. Had a few bites but nothing worth sticking around for. Took another ride in a different direction and ended up finding some savage white water feeds without another boat in sight. Feeds didn't last that long but when you got in them they bit very well. In between feeds we were able to pick away on the readings and bunker pods with the shads. Got covered up by boats by the end and pretty much shut it down.
Was a great sight to see these feeds today. Tons of new fish moving in every day, each day should get better and better.
Back at it in the morning. Looks like some weather coming in mid week, so let's go while we still can! Incoming storm, wind change and no boat traffic should have these fish fired up. Plenty of room, come on down!

A definite improvement today!
Did some looking in a different area this morning with the expected boat traffic. Took a little while to get the fish going but had a couple shots at them with the shads on readings. As the day went on we picked away with the shads and livies on the bunker pods. Occasionally the fish would find the pods and go wild blowing them out of the water, but it was very short lived when they did. Still a great sign to see. All fresh fish moving in, and starting to feed on the bait! Should only get better the next couple of days!
We have plenty of room on BOTH trips tomorrow! Weather looks fantastic, come take advantage of it!

Man that wind was no joke tonight! Had to battle some tough conditions on tonight's eel trip. Had some fish right away but got chased by the wind/seas. Took a ride and found an area of fish where we saw plenty of bites. Landed a bunch of jumbos and lost/broke off double what we landed. Couple guys had 2 a piece, and a couple guys broke off 4 or 5. Name of the game sometimes! Conditions didn't help today for sure. Had to stay on the motors all night to keep the boat straight with the wind dead against the tide. Here's some pics from tonight.
Thankfully it looks like tomorrow night the wind backs off a bit. Hopefully thats the case! We have 8 spots left on Friday nights trip as of right now... Saturday night is completely sold out. Sunday night is wide open!
The whole weekend looks like very nice weather and there's plenty of bass around to catch. Pick a trip, morning or night and come on down!

Well, the famous saying "You should've been here yesterday" definitely applies to today... All the fish we've been seeing the past few days seemed to vanish after the new moon last night. Looked over a bunch of new areas looking for something to work with, but only found loads of bait. Decided to call an audible and try something completely different. Went to some of our Nighttime haunts and was able to find a few fish that wanted to chew in the daylight. Readings were very good at times. The howling wind didn't make anything easy for us today, but the guys hung in there and got it done. As always, would've loved more bites but what we found was a welcome sight after miles of lifelessness.
Tomorrow is a new day, hopefully the bass find the loads of bait that moved into our area overnight... The new moon definitely seemed to put these fish on the move. We'll be back at it in the morning!

New Moon Chew!! Nighttime Eels🔥
Great night on the nighttime eeling grounds tonight with tons of bites all around the boat. Had constantly changing conditions between wind and tide so had to fish a couple different areas but it didn't matter, when we drifted right, they bit! Had fish everywhere we looked tonight, and on almost every drift! Bunch of drifts with 2-3 on at a clip. Again, all jumbos that are safely released, with the biggest going 48". Was great to see life in many different areas tonight, giving us some options when the weekend warrior crowd comes to find us later in the week 😉
We sail EVERY NIGHT 6:30PM-11:30PM, come get on the bite while they're here! Trophy hunting daily... PB's all around!
Keeping an eye on Wednesday and Thursday evenings right now, wind looks a little stiff but forecasts are trending in the right direction. Will keep everyone updated on the morning!! If I don't think we'll have a good shot at some fish we will not go. The weekend looks great and spots are flying for those trips. Definitely recommend to book in advance for Friday or Saturday!

Fantastic striper fishing today!!!
Miles of fish all on top first thing this morning, gorging on sandeels. Worked it for a bit then found them piled up on the bottom and worked the readings for the rest of the day. Incredible amount of fish around with fish coming up on every drift. Nonstop action, holding 2-4 fish on a drift. All jumbos on diamond jigs today. If you want a shot at a PB, now's your time!!! On our way in I told the guys we'd only stop if we saw a gangbuster style blitz. Well halfway home we came across a mile long stretch of TV-Static type bird life with bass blitzing all through it. Stopped, caught a couple more then packed it in. Great day of October bassing!! Fish were so thick even I got to go downstairs and have some fun!
Back at it tomorrow, weather looks similar to today! Stiff west wind should have them fired up once again. Plenty of room at the rail, come on down!! Don't miss the bite.

Back out tonight with high hopes with the nice weather forecast and the readings we left last night. Was greeted by a stiff south breeze that made us slide bad pretty much all night. Lots of working the motors to try and keep us straight, but never really drifted right. Between that and the mosquito boat traffic🙄 it wasn't a good recipe. Still had lots of opportunities and landed a bunch of jumbos. Unfortunately we lost an ungodly amount of fish tonight, between pulled hooks and snapped lines. With this night eeling you really need to capitalize on the bites you get. It's certainly a quality over quantity fishery, but I would always like to see more bites. Here's a couple pics from tonight.
We are taking a pass on Sunday night, with the hard SE winds and incoming storms. We'll revisit Monday night's forecast tomorrow afternoon.

THE FALL RUN IS ON!!!!!
Steamed out this morning with another sold out crowd on our first fall daytime bass trip. Wasn't sure what to expect with all the poor weather we've been having, so knew we were going to have to do some looking. Put a bunch of miles in, looking in a few different areas before we found what we were looking for. Miles upon miles of JUMBO bass feeding on top. They moved fast and were a little tricky to catch at times but when we got in them it was game on with the diamond jigs. Kept on their tail until they staged up in one area in the early afternoon and started feeding better. Had a bunch of drifts with multiple fish on at a time. Tailed A47 diamond jigs worked the best today, color didn't really seem to matter. Everything caught today was too big and was safely released. Here's a couple of the pictures from today, I'll post more as the guys send them to me.
For the first day of our fall bass season, I'll take it! It should only get better from here. We have plenty of room tomorrow! Again, be ready for anything. Bring the diamond jigs as well as the shads!
