Introducing the new 62’ Dark Horse! Sailing daily out of Atlantic Highlands Municipal Marina

Out in the pea soup fog this morning with those that braved the "rain" forecast. Actually didn't rain until we were headed home🙄 Had to do a ton of bouncing around, picking a few everywhere we went. Had a ton of ling in the process. Took a long ride and landed on a nice patch of fish to end the day. Had drop and reel action with some quality keepers in the mix. Not the fishing we've been seeing, but the everyone went home with plenty for dinner. Had a big ground swell today, and water temp dropped a few degrees, both could've affected the bite. Sorry for the lack of pictures, I was working the throttles all day and when the guys started cutting it started to rain!
Back at it in the morning, we are sailing Sunday morning!! Taking a ride in a different direction, be ready to jig!
Sailing 7:30AM-2:30PM Open boat, no reservations needed. Limited to 35 passengers, no overcrowding!!

Taking a pass on tonight's 6:30PM trip 6/7 with the rain and lack of interest. Don't want to see a handful of people show and have to turn them away. The night fishing will only get better the next couple weeks, pick a nicer night!

Good fishing tonight on our Night Eeling Trip! Near perfect conditions all night long let us do some exploring. Found fish in a few different areas with good action all night. All sizes tonight, bunch of shorts, couple of keepers and a bunch of overs! Great to see life in multiple areas, gives us a bunch of different options for the upcoming nights!
We sail EVERY NIGHT 6:30PM-11:30PM fishing for Striped Bass!

One stop shopping today! Got to our drop and had instant action. Drop and reel fishing all around the boat with keepers all over. Had a little wind come up so we dropped the anchor and it was game on from start to finish! Non stop action with loads and loads of shorts, with some flurries of real nice keepers. Handful of limits, but plenty of meat for everyone to go home with! Great day for sure.
We'll be back at it in the morning! Doesn't look like it's going to rain until the afternoon, ocean is going to be flat calm! Come on out and fill the cooler!
Open boat, no reservations needed. Limited to 35 passengers, no overcrowding!

It's not about how you start, it's about how you finish! With the lack of wind this morning we took a ride in a different direction looking over some different bottom. Couple drops had drop and reel ling, some had drop and reel shorts, some had almost nothing. Only picked at the keepers all morning, with everyone having a couple in the cooler. Took a ride inshore once we got the current, and man were they snapping!! The harder the current came on, the more they bit! Loads and loads of keepers flying over the rail. Everyone went home with plenty of fillets for dinner! Check out the quality of some of these fish!!
Back at it in the morning, and the weather looks GREAT!
Don't miss the bite guys, it's not often where the weather and the fishing are both this good!!!

Also sailing tomorrow night 6:30PM-11:30PM, Eeling for Stripers! Conditions look great.

Beautiful day on the ocean again today. Started out in the area we have been fishing and found hot and heavy action instantly. Couldn't even hit the bottom on most drops. Loads and loads of shorts made it difficult to get through to the keepers. Took a ride to a different area and found more of the same but with a better keeper ratio. Still had to fight through the ferocious shorts, but there was a bunch of nice quality fish in the mix. Diamond jigs and teasers were able to weed out the shorts much better than the bait today. Also saw our first few mackerel of the year today.
Back at it in the morning!
Sailing both trips tomorrow 7:30AM-2:30PM for Seabass and 6:30PM-11:30PM for Stripers

Another good day of Seabass fishing today! Couldn't have been any nicer on the ocean today, flat calm, no wind, sunny and warm. Pretty much every drop we made today was drop and reel fishing. Millions of little fish, with a handful of keepers at each drop. Some areas produced better ratios than others. The last stop of the day was by far the best, with a very good ratio and loads of keepers flying over the rail. Both bait and jigs worked well today, with the fish being stacked up almost 30ft thick under the boat. Also had a good amount of ling hit the cooler, and tons of out of season togs going back. All in all, a very nice day. Both fishing and weather wise!
Back at it in the morning! Weather once again looks awesome. Don't miss out!!!

Night Time Eels!!! Man it felt good to be back out at night after what felt like a million bad weather nights. Did lots of looking, seeing plenty of readings but not a ton of bites. After seeing all of that, I knew it was a tide thing. Told the guys we needed to wait it out until the opposite tide, and boy did it pay off!! As soon as we got the tide, we had bites on every drift! Had up to 3 on at a time. Put in some OT and left them biting! Thanks everyone for fishing hard all night, and trusting the process!
The weather for the rest of the week looks amazing, and the night fishing should only get better! We are sailing EVERY NIGHT!
Plenty of room Tuesday night!

Absolutely beautiful day on the Ocean today, for a change. Besides for the current, we had very little drift all day. Decided to bounce around some very small pieces that we haven't explored yet this year. Pretty much every piece had drop and reel action, but had to do wayyyy too much recycling with shorts. Had a couple of drops that produced a bunch of very quality keepers, but for the most part the action was dominated by shorts. Did also see a good showing of ling and a load of out of season togs that were released. Everyone was able to go home with plenty for dinner.
Back at it in the am!
Weather looks fantastic all week, take advantage of it! The sun is shining and the fish are biting!

Sunday seabassing! The wind machine was on high for most of the day, limiting where/how we could fish. Got to the area we've been fishing and had good action right off the bat but way too many small ones. Decided to check out some stuff we haven't touched this year and it paid off for sure. Very very fast action with loads of quality keepers flying over the rail. Some of the best quality of the year. Filled a bunch of limits, with everyone going home with bags of fillets. Was great to see that kind of size, and is a great sign for upcoming trips.
Speaking of upcoming trips, the weather for this week looks IMMACULATE! By far the best weather of the year so far. Don't let it pass by, take advantage of the beautiful summer weather while the fish are biting as good as they are right now!
We have PLENTY of room all week, on BOTH trips!
7:30AM-2:30PM for Seabass
6:30PM-11:30PM for Stripers
Open boat, no reservations needed! We limit all open trips to 35 passengers, no overcrowding!

Out this morning after a couple days off with this terrible weather pattern. Less than ideal conditions today with wind against tide all day. Bounced all around fishing some drops we haven't touched this year. Lots of recycling, drop and reel shorts in most areas with some quality fish coming up. Some were dialed in, landing well over their limit. Had to wait out the small bites to catch the bigger fish. Added a bunch of nice size ling to the coolers as well. Everyone was able to bring more than enough home for dinner.
Decided against sailing tonight, every weather forecast update was worse. Not in the business for boat rides!!! Apologize to the people who were coming out tonight, but pick a nicer night! There's plenty of time for these big fish, and it should only get better as we get closer to the June full moon. Night time eeling is all about conditions, without the right conditions you won't get the bites.
We'll be back at it tomorrow, both trips.
