Had the Blackfish Challenge hosted by Keyport Bait & Tackle today. Very tough and grindy bite all day long. Fished everywhere from 25-100' of water today trying to find better life but never found anything good enough to sit on for a while. Would pick a couple keepers and shorts right away then lose all life. Very scratchy bite. Had a screaming south tide no matter where we went, right into the NW wind, making conditions very tough for everyone. The fish were there, just didn't want to eat right with the screaming south tide. Appreciate everyone fishing hard all day in the cold wind. Look forward to doing it again in January. Hopefully we'll have better conditions! Unfortunately tomorrow's forecast has continued to get worse as the day went on. Hard SSE winds coming on very early in the morning. Happy Thanksgiving to everyone out there! Headed out this morning with a good group of guys looking to add Striper to their Thanksgiving menu tonight... Let's just say I hope they have enough Turkey to go around😂😭 All the areas that were full of life and fish yesterday were near lifeless today. The 1 area of life we found was fast moving and the couple of fish that were with it did not want to bite. Pulled 1 keeper and 1 over out of it then never got another bite. Looked all over the place but nothing came together. Frustrating after seeing the amount of fish we did yesterday. But, it's that time of year unfortunately. 1 day they're here, the next they're 30 miles south. I don't mind braving the wind and cold when the fish are biting but it's brutal when they're not! With that being said, we are officially done Striper fishing for the season. Woahh what a day!!🔥🔥🔥 Fantastic Striper fishing all day today! Made our way out and found the life and fish right away. For a change, the fish splashing around the boat actually bit today! Had most the boat hooked up for the majority of the day today with a very easy limit of bonus fish and keepers. Bunch of overs today too up to 37". Some incredible feeds for miles today, blowing both adult and peanut bunkers out of the water. Non stop action with shads, spoons and topwaters today. Oh and BTW, it didn't rain at all today. Slow start, great finish!!! Headed right to where we had our best life yesterday first thing this morning and found plenty of bird life with fish splashing all over. Issue was that they were very very tough to catch. Readings were incredible at times, but the fish were moving at warp speed and very tough to stay on. Picked away each drift until the life disappeared. Switched it up and fished some structure with the jigs and was able to pick a few fish each drift but it wasn't great. Saw some life in the glasses at the change of tide so took a ride and it was game on! Acres and acres of bass blowing bunkers out of the water to end the day. Chased them very close to home too! Put in some OT making sure everyone had plenty of fish to go home with, and making up for the slower day. Was a great sign seeing these fish close to home! Everyone was able to go home with at least 1 fish today, most guys going home with both their bonus and keeper size. Even I was able to go down stairs and catch a few today! Back at it in the AM! Definitely some pickier fishing today! Not going to fluff it up to be more than it was. Headed to where we fished yesterday and the fish were there once again. Plenty of bird life with fish splashing, but the fish were not the easiest to catch. Had some drifts with 6-8 fish, while most drifts saw 1-4 fish. Once the tide switched the life went down and fish spread out. Picked a few to end the day but that was it. By the end of the day everyone had a fish or 2 to go home with between keepers and bonus fish. Plenty of overs and shorts as well. The big 9" double hook shads produced the best today, as they have been the past few trips. Season is winding down, fish are becoming very tide dependant with the dropping water temps. Mannn that boat traffic was no joke today!!! Steamed out with a sold out crowd this morning and saw what looked like a city where we've been fishing. Decided to slip away in a different direction and managed to find a nice pile of readings a couple miles away from anyone. First drift of the day was one of the best with over 20 fish coming up on the shads. Kept plucking away at them throughout the morning seeing 1-4 fish a drift everytime we'd stop on the readings. Once the tide slacked they disappeared so we backtracked for the change of tide. Was able to catch the current switch before the traffic showed up and had another good shot of 20+ fish before the boats shut it down. Ran back into our bay and found some more life without too many boats to end the day. Picked away the last few drifts to top off the coolers. Once the traffic got bad again we packed it in and headed for home. Solid mix of keepers, overs and bonus fish today. The millions of boats definitely killed the bite today. While we had some real good shots at the fish today, it would've been 1000× better if the traffic didn't shut it down before it even got started. Steamed out this morning with a decent crowd despite the weather forecast. Ended up being a very nice day with little to no rain while we fished. Landed right on them first thing, with fast action right away. The first few drifts saw fish flying with 8-10 on at a time with the jigs. Good mix of keepers and bonus fish, with a load of overs going back. Boat traffic put a damper on it after a bit and made us go looking. Seemed like we'd pick a few everywhere we looked but never got them going like they were in the morning. Had a little shot of fish to end the day to top off the cooler, but it wasn't the fishing we saw yesterday for sure. Glad we got the shots of fish that we did!! VERY GOOD STRIPER FISHING TODAY!! Had instant action once again with the diamond jigs this morning, working the readings. Bounced around away from the boats, catching fish on every drift. Most drifts seeing between 5-10 fish. Boxed up our limit of keepers and bonus fish in that time. Mid morning decided to switch it up, took a ride up shallow and had some really good shots of fish with the shads. That fishing lasted until the boats moved in on us, so off we went looking elsewhere. Ended up on acres of bunkers with bass blowing up all around the boat to end the day. Watched hundreds of bass blow bunkers out of the water until it was time to go home. Even had some fish on top water plugs. Russ and Sam were tied for high hook ending the day with 19 fish each. Couldn't ask for much more today! The guys were busy with the knives and nets today, so only grabbed a few pictures. We are back at it tomorrow and have PLENTY OF ROOM! Made our way out this morning and found fish right away. Took time to get some of the guys acclimated, but some were hot right off the bat. Readings were incredible, but definitely didn't catch what we read. Picked away all day long with diamond jigs, working the readings. Would get some shots of a few on at a time but mainly just singles throughout the drifts. Was never fast and furious with the fish on top like we've seen, but steady action all day. Fish were definitely smaller today with loads of shorts, but plenty of keepers, bonus size and overs still coming up. Boat traffic was brutal today, with guys trolling close enough to us to grab our jigs. If you found a patch of fish away from the boats they bit much better. Back out this morning with some annoying rain and breezy NE conditions. Found some life right away but the size was not good, too many 18-20" fish. Kept moving and ended up finding a patch of fish on peanuts but a ton of boats trying to work one small patch. Had some good shots at the fish, with 3-5 on at a clip. Once the boats put a damper on that we worked some readings, picking a few more. Kept searching, and finally some more life came up close to home with fish blowing adult bunkers out of the water. Saw more than you caught, but ended the day with a couple more good shots of fish. Again, saw a mix of keepers, overs and bonus fish today. Had to work for the bites today. If you didn't present the shad the right way, you didn't get the bites. Bunch of guys with 4,5,6+ fish a piece but some still struggled. Ended up just a few fish shy of a limit, with a handful of bonus fish filling the box. This fall has not been easy by any means, one day we catch them close to home then the next day we find them 20 miles away. We've been doing lots of riding and looking everyday to find them. As long as we can find a patch of fish without a million boats on it, it's been very good fishing. Thanks to everyone that's hung in there and trusted us, sometimes you have to get a little creative to ditch the little boats. Hoping that this fishing will continue at least until we switch over to Blackfish on Nov 28th. Water is cooling fast and we're seeing winter time patterns setting in...
